Save the dates — if you haven’t already — for the tenth One State Together in the Arts conference, coming to Galesburg October 22 and 23, with a preconference for members of the Local Arts Network on October 21.

Inspired by this vibrant community’s historical importance as a railway hub and crossroads of northwest Illinois, One State 2018 themes include:

• Collaborations beyond the creative sector in agriculture, human services, immigration, journalism, and the justice system

• Building platforms and resources for people of color and the organizations they lead, as well as for historically underrepresented forms of expression

• The importance of arts education in workforce development and 21st century skill-building

Preconference sessions — included with your registration — on Monday, October 22 begin at 9:15am, followed by full conference programming from 11am–5:30pm. Conference sessions on Tuesday, October 23 begin at 9:15am and conclude at 4pm. Following Monday’s daytime sessions, enjoy a networking reception at the Discovery Depot Children’s Museum plus evening performances and creative activations of downtown Galesburg’s Seminary Street District.
